The Bronx Museum of the Arts! I remember when it first opened and all they had in there was this weird modern art that I couldnt get into. But now I am on their listserve. They seem to have a lot of writing contests there. My first apartment was down the hill on 165th and Sherman. And my parents' first Bronx apartment was directly behind at 165th and Sheridan. My mom still lives five blocks south in Concourse Village. Im getting all homesick and veklempt over here :-[
Anyway, I hope this summit includes a women-are-people-too message. With all the video hoes and unrecognized female artists out there, I hope the young people can move toward a more equitable creative hip-hop ideology.
Have a safe trip. If you watch the Marathon on Sunday, go to 135th and Fifth in Harlem. They usually have a DJ and free t-shirts over there.
